The community is located on the banks of the Brune , around six kilometers south of the canton capital, Vervins . Burelles is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Prisces in the west, Gronard in the northwest, Hary in the north and northeast, Braye-en-Thiérache in the southeast and the municipalities of Tavaux-et-Pontséricourt in the south and Bosmont-sur-Serre in the southwest in the canton of Marle .
