The community is located around 25 kilometers northeast of Laon Prefecture . Berlancourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Neuville-Housset in the west, Marfontaine in the north, Voharies in the northeast, Thiernu in the southeast and the canton capital Marle in the south.
Berlancourt is connected to the neighboring municipalities by five roads. The Route nationale 2 Paris - Maubeuge and the D934 from Guise to Montcornet are around two kilometers away, the Autoroute A 26 Calais - Troyes , part of the European route 17 , is 22 kilometers away. The closest connection to the railway network is Marle station.
history
The village belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Martin de Laon in the High Middle Ages . The Holy Saint Martin has since been the patron saint of the church.
In November 1644, during the Thirty Years War , Berlancourt was sacked by Spanish troops.
Berlancourt suffered severe damage during the Franco-Prussian War and World War I.

The choir with its four-part vault dates from the 12th century. In 1773 the nave was lengthened by 20 feet (6.10 m). The altar and tabernacle are neo-Gothic .
