Chaourse is a French municipality with 539 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Vervins (since January 2017, until December 2016 part of the Arrondissement Laon ) and the canton Vervins (until 2015: Canton Rozoy-sur-Serre ).

Chaourse is about 31 kilometers northeast of Laon on the Serre . Chaourse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vigneux-Hocquet in the north, Renneval in the northeast, Vincy-Reuil-et-Magny in the east, Montcornet in the southeast, La Ville-aux-Bois-lès-Dizy in the south, and Clermont-les-Fermes in the south and south-west, Montigny-le-Franc to the west and south-west and Agnicourt-et-Séchelles to the west.
