Hirson is a French municipality with 8813 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France .
geography
The city is located about 80 kilometers north of Reims and ten kilometers from the Belgian border. The river Oise, which rises in Belgium, and its left tributary Gland flow through the city. In the north there are large forest areas of the Thiérache .
