Lislet is a French municipality with 225 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (before 2016 Picardy ). It belongs to Arrondissement Vervins , the Canton of Vervins (2015 Rozoy-sur-Serre ) and the Association of Municipalities Portes de la Thiérache .

Lislet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dizy-le-Gros in the south, La Ville-aux-Bois-lès-Dizy in the west, Montcornet in the north and Montloué in the east.

history

Lislet was the scene of military conflicts during the Thirty Years' War , the Napoleonic summer campaign of 1815 , the Franco-German War in 1870, the First World War and, most recently, during the Battle of Montcornet in 1940.

The municipality was incorporated into the Arrondissement Vervins on January 1, 2017 by decree of the prefecture from the Arrondissement Laon .
