Marly-Gomont is a commune in the region of Hauts-de-France in France . It belongs to the Aisne department , the Vervins arrondissement and the Guise canton . The inhabitants call themselves Marlysiens .

geography

The villages in the municipality mark are called Béchaué, Marly and Gomont. Marly-Gomont borders Chigny and Englancourt to the north, Saint-Algis and Haution to the east, Le Sourd (point of contact) to the southwest and Proisy to the west .

In the north, the Oise largely forms the municipal boundary .

history

The area was populated as early as the 12th century.

Marly was the capital of the canton of Marly, which existed from 1790 to 1801, not to be confused with today 's canton of the same name .
