The place is crossed by the national road 2 , which connects Paris with the Franco-Belgian border. Fontaine-lès-Vervins is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Laigny in the northwest, Étréaupont in the north, La Bouteille in the northeast, Vervins in the east and southeast, Gercy in the south and the municipality of Voulpaix in the canton of Marle in the southwest.
