The Canton Hirson is a French constituency in the Aisne department in the region of Hauts-de-France . It comprises 26 parishes in the Vervins arrondissement and has its bureau centralisateur in Hirson . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in 2015, it was merged with the canton of Aubenton and thus significantly enlarged.

Until the reorganization, the 13 municipalities of Bucilly , Buire , Effry , Hirson, La Hérie , Mondrepuis , Neuve-Maison , Ohis , Origny-en-Thiérache , Saint-Michel , Watigny , Wimy and Éparcy belonged to the canton of Hirson . Its layout corresponded to an area of 192.33 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0217.
