Ahmed Kutucu (born March 1, 2000 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a Turkish - German soccer player who is under contract with FC Schalke 04 .

Career

In the club

Kutucu, whose father worked as a miner in Gelsenkirchen , started playing soccer with Sportfreunde Haverkamp in 2003 at the age of three, before joining the youth team at Rot-Weiss Essen in 2006 . In 2011, Kutucu switched to the youth team at FC Schalke 04 and went through this completely from then on. In the 2016/17 season he won the Westphalia Cup with the B-Youth (U17) as well as the western season of the B-Junior Bundesliga , but had to admit defeat to Bayern Munich in the semi-finals with his team . In the 2017/18 season , Kutucu won the western season of the A-Junior Bundesliga with the A-Youth (U19) . In the 1: 3 defeat in the final against Hertha BSC , he scored the goal of his team.

In the summer preparation for 2018, Kutucu took part in a marketing trip to China with the professional team and was used in the friendly matches against FC Southampton and Hebei China Fortune . At the beginning of the 2018/19 season , Kutucu was only part of the A-youth squad. In December 2018, Domenico Tedesco pulled Kutucu into the professional squad due to a tense personnel situation in the offensive area in the run-up to the Champions League game against Lokomotiv Moscow . At that time he had scored 11 goals in 11 appearances in the A-Junior Bundesliga . In the national team

Kutucu participated with the Turkish U17 selection in the U17 World Cup in India in October 2017 . He was used in all three group games and scored one goal. In July 2018, Kutucu took part in the U19 European Championship in Finland with the U19 selection and was also used in all three group games (no goal).

National coach Şenol Güneş nominated the offensive player for the European Championship qualifier against Andorra on November 17, 2019 for the first time for the Turkish A selection . In the 2-0 away win, Kutucu and his Schalke teammate Ozan Kabak were in the starting line-up.
