Mark-Alexander Uth (born August 24, 1991 in Cologne ) is a German football player who is under contract with FC Schalke 04 and is on loan at 1. FC Köln .
Career
societies
The striker Mark Uth began his professional career in the Dutch first division club SC Heerenveen . In the 2013/14 season he was loaned to the league rivals Heracles Almelo . In the 2014/15 season he played again for SC Heerenveen and scored 15 goals this season in the league and five goals in the Europa League . He also provided eleven assists in the competitive games for his teammates.
For the 2015/16 season , Uth moved to Germany and joined the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . He received a three-year contract and the shirt with the shirt number 19. His first Bundesliga season, in which he scored eight goals in 25 league games, he finished with the team as table 15. In the 2016/17 season , Uth scored seven goals in 22 league games, finished fourth in the final table and took part in the Champions League play-offs with the team the following season . Here he scored one goal each in the first and second leg against Liverpool , but was eliminated with TSG.
For the 2018/19 season, Uth moved to FC Schalke 04 after the end of his contract , with whom he signed a contract with a term until June 30, 2022. He then fell out several times with muscle injuries and was only able to contribute four hits and five assists in 38 compulsory games.
During the winter break of the 2019/20 season, he switched to his training club, 1. FC Köln, on loan until the end of the season. Until the season was interrupted due to the global COVID-19 pandemic , the striker was used in seven of eight league games and was able to contribute four goals and assists; he was not allowed to play against FC Schalke due to a loan agreement clause.
National team
He made his debut in the national jersey for the German U20s on September 6, 2010 in Schaffhausen in a 3-2 win over Switzerland , when he came on for Cenk Tosun in the second half. In October 2018 Joachim Löw nominated him for the first time for the senior national team for the games in Group 1 of League A in the Nations League against the Netherlands and France . He made his debut on October 13, 2018 in Amsterdam in the 3-0 defeat by the Netherlands national team .
