Florian Kainz (born October 24, 1992 in Graz ) is an Austrian football player . He plays for the German first division club 1. FC Köln .

Career

Kainz made his first footballing attempts at the age of seven at the Styrian lower class club FC Stattegg . Just one year later (2000) it was awarded to SK Sturm Graz, which signed it in 2002. With the Grazers he went through the various age groups up to the football academy and received a profound football training.

On June 2, 2009 the talented midfielder made his debut in the second team of SK Sturm Graz in the championship game of the Regionalliga Mitte in the away game at SC Weiz (2: 4). Kainz was allowed to participate from kick-off and was replaced after 77 minutes. From then on he belonged to the squad of the second team and was able to record another three missions by the end of the 2008/09 season . In the 2009/10 season Kainz came in the second team of SK Sturm Graz on 26 missions in which he scored three goals. The first two goals in the adult area were a "double pack", achieved on November 6, 2009 in a 4-1 win against FC Wels . On December 1, 2009, SK Sturm Graz rewarded his consistent performance with a contract as a young professional.

In the summer of 2010, Kainz was added to the extended squad of the professional team of SK Sturm Graz for the 2010/11 season by coach Franco Foda . So it happened in quick succession for Florian Kainz. Due to a few failures, Kainz was able to make his debut in the professional team on August 13, 2010 when he came on the field in the ÖFB Cup 2010/11 in the 2-1 away win of Graz at regional league SV Horn after 69 minutes for Christian Klem . On August 19, 2010, Kainz was also able to make his international debut in the professional team when he was even able to play in the starting line-up in qualifying for the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League against Juventus Turin (1: 2). In the 72nd minute he was replaced by Christian Klem.

On July 22, 2014, Kainz moved to the Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien .

For the 2016/17 season he moved to the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen . He scored his first goal for Bremen in the 3-0 home win against RB Leipzig on matchday 25 of the season.

In the 2018/19 Bundesliga season , the Austrian played ten games for Werder in the Hinserie and switched to the second division club 1. FC Köln during the winter transfer period , where he signed a contract valid until 2022.

National team

On August 11, 2010, Kainz made his debut in the Austrian U19 national team . In the 1-1 draw against Russia under team boss Hermann Stadler in Bad Vöslau , he was able to prove his talent for 45 minutes.

On June 3, 2011, Kainz played for the first time for the U21 national team of Austria . He was substituted on at halftime in the 2-0 friendly defeat in Portugal .

Kainz made his first appearance in the senior national team on November 17, 2015 in a friendly against Switzerland . He was substituted on by team boss Marcel Koller in the 82nd minute for Julian Baumgartlinger .
