Christian Clemens (born August 4, 1991 in Cologne ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with 1. FC Cologne since January 2017 .

Club career

1. FC Cologne

Clemens grew up in Cologne-Chorweiler and began his career in 1997 at SC Köln Weiler-Volkhoven ; In 2001 he moved to the youth department of 1. FC Köln . From 2009 to 2010 he played eleven games for the second team in the Regionalliga West .

From the 2010/11 season he was part of the first team, for which he made his debut on August 15, 2010 in the DFB-Pokal game against ZFC Meuselwitz . He made his Bundesliga debut on September 12, 2010 (3rd matchday) in a 1-0 win at home against FC St. Pauli . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on December 11, 2010 (16th match day) in a 1-0 win at home against Eintracht Frankfurt . FC Schalke 04

During the 2013 summer break, Clemens moved to FC Schalke 04 . He received a four-year contract and the shirt with the shirt number 11. National team

From 2007 to 2010, Clemens played in the DFB junior teams in the U-16 to U-19 age group and made his debut in the U-20 national team on September 6, 2010 in a 3-2 victory over the Swiss team, in which he also scored his first goal for that national team. On February 6, 2011 he was re-nominated for the international match against the Greek U-21 on February 9 and made his debut in this age group in Athens in a goalless draw.
