FC Union Berlin in the 2010/11 season , he scored his first goal in professional football. Two game days later, he scored the 1-1 final score with a penalty in the away game against Greuther Fürth . FC Schalke 04

Höger (2011)

For the 2011/12 season, Höger moved to FC Schalke 04 . He played his first game for Schalke in the 3-0 away defeat at VfB Stuttgart on the first day of the 2011/12 season . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on January 28, 2012 to make it 4-1 at 1. FC Köln . Due to his variability in defense and midfield, he came to regular hours and fought for a regular place in the team. In his first season he came in the league on 27 missions; due to two tears in the syndesmosis tape in the 2012/13 season, however, to 22 missions. In the Bundesliga game against Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2013/14 season , he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture that put him out of action for several months. He finally made his comeback against SC Freiburg on the penultimate matchday after almost seven months . In total, he was only used eight times in the league and scored two goals. He started the 2014/15 season without injuries, although he suffered injuries in the pre-season. In the second half of the season opener in the home game against Hannover 96 , he scored his first goal of the season with the decisive 1-0.

On May 11, 2015, Höger was temporarily suspended from the club's training and game operations, while Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sidney Sam were permanently affected. According to sports director Horst Heldt, the reason for this was "doubts about his loyalty to the club". Since May 18, 2015 he has been part of the Schalke team again. For the 2015/16 season , Höger was fully integrated into the squad again and was considered a squad player under the new coach André Breitenreiter . In the 1-0 win against HSV on the 7th matchday of the Bundesliga, he tore a partial cruciate ligament and was out for the first half of the season. His contract with FC Schalke 04 ran until June 2017.

1. FC Cologne

His ball security and accuracy of fit are valued. He closes open spaces with clever runs. In addition, he is considered a very fair player, as he was not even expelled from the field during his entire professional career ( as of October 2015 ). Nevertheless, he received eleven yellow cards in the 2014/15 Bundesliga season . These result mainly from tactical fouls .
