The SCB Viktoria Köln was a sports club from Cologne . The first soccer team played for a year in the then third-class Regionalliga West / Südwest . The SCB Viktoria is a forerunner of today's FC Viktoria Köln .

history

SCB Viktoria was created on July 1, 1994 through the merger of SC Brück with SC Viktoria Cologne . At first the club was called SCB Preußen Köln, whereby the name Prussia was supposed to remind of the predecessor club Prussia Dellbrück . Despite a good start to the 1994/95 regional league season - after four matchdays the Prussians were second in the table - the season ended with relegation to the league. 22 games in a row without a win led the team to the relegation ranks. Nevertheless, the club provided the top scorer in Jörg Beyel .

Two years after relegation from the regional league, the Prussians rose to the now fifth-rate association league. With eleven points ahead of TSC Euskirchen they managed to get back up immediately. The first years after returning to the Oberliga Nordrhein were quite successful. After finishing fourth in the 1998/99 season , the team was runner-up a year later behind Wuppertaler SV. The regional league was converted from a four-track to a two-track league in the summer of 2000, so the championship title would only have allowed participation in the relegation.

At the beginning of the 2000s, the club was again on a sporting decline. On June 11, 2002, the name was changed to SCB Viktoria Köln . The name change did not result in a sporting renaissance. Two years later, the Viktoria rose due to the poorer goal difference against the Bonner SC in the association league. 2006 even threatened relegation to the national league. Only a 2-1 win against their direct competitor Westwacht Aachen ensured that they would remain in the class.

After an intermittent high in the 2007/08 season, in which Viktoria finished fourth, the club again had financial problems. In the 2009/10 season, the team actually rose to the national league. The Höhenberger had the worst goal difference compared to Viktoria Arnoldsweiler and SV Wachtberg . The SCB Viktoria did not appear there; because on August 1st 2010 the association filed for bankruptcy . FC Viktoria Köln was founded on June 22nd, 2010 in order to continue the youth work.
