Nassim Boujellab ( Arabic نسيم بوجلاب, DMG Nasīm Būǧallāb ; * June 20, 1999 in Hagen - Hohenlimburg ) is a Moroccan - German football player . The versatile midfielder came to FC Schalke 04 as a 15-year-old and made his first appearances for the professional team there from summer 2018. He was also used several times for Moroccan junior national teams.

As a five-year-old, Boujellab started playing football at ASSV Letmathe in the Letmathe district of Iserlohn , and when he was ten, he switched to Sportfreunde Oestrich-Iserlohn, which two years later merged with TuS Iserlohn to form FC Iserlohn 46/49 . Another two years later, at the age of 15, he switched to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 , the so-called Knappenschmiede . In November 2014 he made his debut for the Schalke U-17 team in the B-Junioren-Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Abdurrahman Hatap in the 60th minute against SC Paderborn 07 on the tenth matchday of the 2014/15 season . By the end of the season, Boujellab, who was actually active for the Schalke U-16 team, made four more appearances for Schalke's older B-Juniors.

For the 2015/16 season, he finally moved up firmly in their squad. In September 2015 he scored his first goal in the B-Junior Bundesliga in a 3-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach . In total, he came to 24 missions in that season, in which he scored eleven goals. For the 2016/17 season he was included in the Schalke A-Juniors squad. For this he came in August 2016 against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen for his first appearance in the A-Juniors Bundesliga . He scored his first goal for the U-19 team, as he did in the B-Jugend, in September 2016 in a 2-0 win against Mönchengladbach. By the end of the season he came to 23 missions in which he scored two goals. As runner-up in the West Season, he took part in the championship finals with the Gelsenkirchen team, but failed in the semi-finals at Bayern Munich on penalties.

In the 2017/18 season, Boujellab played 19 games in the A-Juniors Bundesliga and scored five goals. In this season he was with Schalke champions of the season west and thus took part in the finals again. After defeating TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the semifinals , Boujellab scored one goal in both the first and second leg, they lost the final against Hertha BSC .

His achievements were not hidden from those responsible for the Schalke professional team and so Boujellab took part in a trip to China with the Bundesliga team in July 2018 and was also used there in the two test matches. However, he played everyday life in the league with the second team of FC Schalke in the fifth-class Oberliga Westfalen . In August 2018 he made his debut for Schalke II in the league when he was in the starting line-up against Westfalia Herne on matchday one and was replaced by Berkan Firat in the 82nd minute. In the game that Schalke won 4-1, Boujellab scored the 2-1 and 3-1 intermediate scores. In November 2018 he made two appearances for the Schalke U-19 team in the UEFA Youth League .

After 19 appearances for the league team, Boujellab played in a test match of the Schalke professional team at Sevilla FC and was able to convince coach Huub Stevens , so that he came on for Suat Serdar in the 79th minute of the following Bundesliga game on March 31, 2019 at Hannover 96 . Three days later he was on the starting line-up for the first time in the quarter-final game in the DFB Cup, which was lost 2-0 against Werder Bremen , before being replaced by Mark Uth in the 68th minute . On April 6, 2019, the midfielder received a professional contract valid until June 30, 2022.

Boujellab played his first two games for the Moroccan U-23 selection in October 2018 . He had previously played for the Moroccan U-19 team .
