Marek Zúbek (born August 5, 1975 in Žilina ) is a Czech football player .
Career
Marek Zúbek began playing football at Sokol Bedřichov , a club from Jihlava . After only a year he moved to FC Zbrojovka Brno . In April 1994, the defensive midfielder made his debut for the club, which has since been renamed FC Boby Brno, in the first division. In the seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96 under coach Petr Uličný , the talented Zúbek did not always play from the start, this only changed under Uličný's successor Karel Večeřa , who regularly set up Zúbek.
In 1996 Zúbek was voted Talent of the Year and made his debut at the end of the year at the King Hassan II Cup in Morocco in the Czech national team . After two more international matches, he sustained an ankle injury during national team training in the spring of 1997, which ended his international career abruptly.
At the end of the 1990s, Zúbek had an offer from Lommel , Belgium , but was not approved. In 1993 he signed an eleven-year contract, a practice later banned by UEFA. In January 2003, Zúbek was allowed to switch to SK Lommel on loan, but they had to file for bankruptcy three months later. He returned to Brno and after his contract expired in 2004 he went to the reigning Czech champion Baník Ostrava . Under František Komňacký he initially played, his successor Jozef Jarabinský no longer put on Zúbek. He was loaned to his former club 1. FC Brno for half a year . In 2005/06 he played for Vysočina Jihlava .
Although Baník Ostrava had no sporting interest in Zúbek, the club nonetheless pulled the contract extension option. On August 31, 2006 Marek Zúbek was signed by Tescoma Zlín , where he signed a three-year contract.
In the summer of 2009, Zúbek moved to the Austrian regional division SV Leobendorf . Zúbek has been a player at USV Scheiblingkirchen in the Austrian 2nd regional league east since summer 2010.
