player
As a player, Komňacký never made it into the top division and after his studies saw the sport as a hobby alongside his main job as a teacher .
He first played for the then second division team Jiskra Kyjov, in 1970 he went to Volgograd to study there and during this time played for the third division team Neftjanik there. After graduating in pedagogy , Komňacký returned to Kyjov , where he soon began to work as a youth coach. After a season with Sigma Hodonín, he moved to Agro Drnovice in 1984 and saw the team rise from the sixth to the first division, where he himself played regularly up to the fourth division.
Trainer
Komňacký made his first experiences as a coach from 1978 to 1981 as a youth coach with Jiskra Kyjov. Also during his year in Hodonín he was in charge of one of the junior teams. From 1986 to 1988 he was head coach in Drnovice , then assistant until 1994. His next two positions were Hanácká Slavia Kroměříž and Tatran Poštorná. In the 1999/00 season he led 1. FC Synot in the first division , in 2002 he was involved in the rise of FK Zlín .
