Milovan Rajevac ( Serbian - Cyrillic Милован Рајевац ; born January 2, 1954 in Čajetina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Yugoslav football player and today's Serbian football coach .

Player career

During his career, Rajevac not only played on the (large) field in Yugoslavia, but also in the Major Indoor Soccer League on North American indoor floors for the New York Arrows .

Coaching career

After he had only coached Serbian clubs at first, he became the coach of the Ghanaian national team in 2008 and also coached them at the Africa Cup and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where Ghana achieved the greatest success in association history with reaching the quarter-finals especially since the team was the last African team to remain on African soil in this first World Cup.

In September 2010, Rajevac signed a contract with the Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli . In February 2011 Rajevac left Al-Ahli and signed a contract with the Qatari national soccer team , from which he was released in August of the same year. He has been the coach of the Thai national soccer team since 2017 . On January 7, 2019, Rajevac was dismissed after losing 4-1 to India in the Asian Cup.

Trivia

Since he did not speak the language of Ghana's national players, Rajevac had to rely on interpreters to communicate.
