Javor Ivanjica (full official name in Serbian : Фудбалски клуб Јавор Ивањица, Fudbalski klub Javor Ivanjica ), also known as Javor , is a Serbian football club from Ivanjica that plays in the SuperLiga , the country's top division. The club is named after the Javor - Mountain named, located in central Serbia next Ivanjica. The word Javor itself means maple in Serbian .
history
The club was founded in 1912 by Serbian students and is one of the oldest football clubs in Serbia . The first major success was achieved between 1958 and 1962 when Javor played in the Yugoslav second division for the first time. Another great success in the club's history came during the 2001/02 season when promotion to the first division was achieved. After Javor Ivanjica was relegated again in the 2004/05 season, the club became champions of the Prva Liga , the second Serbian league, in the 2007/08 season and thus rose to the SuperLiga , the highest league in the country. The Javor achieved an amazing and unique record in the promotion season, because he did not lose a single game during the 34 game days.
Sponsors
From 2005 to 2011, Javor was financed by the pharmaceutical company Habitpharm and also bore its name as part of the club's name. Since 2011 the club has been called Javor Ivanjica again.
