Amadou Haidara (born January 31, 1998 in Bamako ) is a Malian football player .

Career

Haidara started his career at the JMG Academy Bamako . In July 2016 he moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg , but was loaned out directly to the second division club FC Liefering on a cooperation basis. He made his debut in the second division on the third match day of the 2016/17 season against LASK Linz when he came on for Gideon Mensah at half-time . In that game he was able to net in minute 48 to make it 2-2.

After more than 20 games for Liefering, he made his debut for FC Red Bull Salzburg in April 2017 when he came on for Stefan Stangl in the quarter-finals of the cup against Kapfenberger SV in the 104th minute . In that game he even scored the goal to make it 2-1.

In the same month Haidara also made his debut for the "Bulls" in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Valon Berisha on matchday 28 against SK Sturm Graz in stoppage time . He won the UEFA Youth League with Salzburg's U-19 team in the 2016/17 season . Haidara played in two of the four games in qualifying for the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League . He also played both games against FC Viitorul Constanța in the play-offs to the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League following his non-qualification and scored his first goal in the competition in the second leg. He was also used regularly in the subsequent group phase and in the knockout phase. In the international season he came to 14 games in which he scored 2 goals.

Before the 2018/19 season, Haidara extended his contract until June 30, 2022. At the end of November 2018, he tore the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

On January 1, 2019, Haidara moved to the German Bundesliga for RB Leipzig . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2023. For the first time, he played for Saxony in a competitive game on matchday 26 against FC Schalke 04 after a substitution for Kevin Kampl .

National team

Haidara took part in the 2015 World Cup with the Malian U-17 team . There he also made his debut in a group game against Belgium on October 15, 2015. He later lost the final with Mali against Nigeria 2-0. After three games for the U-20 national team , he made his senior team debut in the World Cup qualifier against Ivory Coast on October 6, 2017 , when he came on for Yves Bissouma in the 79th minute .
