Stefan Stangl (born October 20, 1991 in Wagna ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

society

Stangl began his footballing career at SV Lebring in Styria in 1998. In 2001 the defender's talent was recognized and he moved to the youth department of Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz . After a total of eight years in various junior teams, he joined the Blackies amateurs in 2009 . Stangl made his debut in the Regionalliga Mitte on June 2, 2009 against SC Weiz when he played through and lost the game 2: 4. The Sturm Amateure team at that time included the future national players Daniel Royer and Florian Kainz . This season he came on two more missions. In the following season Stangl was already used 26 times and was able to score three goals against FC Pasching and the two small derbies against the Grazer AK .

In 2011/12 he was included in the squad of the then reigning champions Sturm Graz under coach Franco Foda . He made his competitive debut for the first team on July 26, 2011 in the UEFA Champions League qualification in the away game against FC Sestaponi from Georgia . Stangl came on for Florian Kainz in the 90th minute. The game in the Central Stadium Sestaponi ended 1: 1. This was followed by the debut in the top Austrian league. For the 2016/17 season he moved to FC Red Bull Salzburg , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2020. In January 2018 it was awarded to the league competitor FK Austria Wien . After the 2017/18 season, he terminated his contract with Red Bull Salzburg.

After several months without a club, he moved to Slovakia to ŠK Slovan Bratislava in February 2019 , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2019. With Slovan he was champion of the Fortuna league at the end of the season . After the 2018/19 season, however, he left the club after only one assignment.

After another six months without a club, he moved back to Austria to SKN St. Pölten in January 2020, where he received a contract that ran until June 2021. In June 2020, the Lower Austrians terminated his contract after only two missions. After about a month without a club, he moved to Germany in July 2020 to move to third division Türkgücü Munich .

National team

He was appointed to the national team for the first time in August 2016 . He made his national team debut in November 2016 when he came on for Markus Suttner in a test match against Slovakia in minute 69 .
