Darko Bodul (born January 11, 1989 in Sarajevo , SFR Yugoslavia , today Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is an Austrian football player of Croatian origin.
Career
society
Bodul started his career with youth teams in Austria. Via Fortuna Vienna and First Vienna FC , he came to SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands in 2004 . After four years the striker was transferred to Ajax Amsterdam's youth boarding school. In the winter of 2008/09 he was appointed to the club's professional squad by coach Marco van Basten . On February 8, 2009 he made his professional debut against Vitesse Arnhem . In April 2009 Bodul extended his contract for two years. From July 2011 to January 2013 he was under contract with SK Sturm Graz . In the winter of 2013 he moved to Denmark to Odense BK , and at the beginning of February 2015 he moved back to Austria to SCR Altach . In July 2015 he moved to the Scottish first division club Dundee United , with whom he signed a two-year contract. The contract was terminated after just one season.
He then moved to Russia to Amkar Perm for the 2016/17 season . After the 2017/18 season, Amkar Perm was dissolved, after which he moved to the first division promoted Yenisei Krasnoyarsk in July 2018 . In February 2019 he moved to Belarus for FK Shakhtsor Salihorsk , where he received a contract that ran until December 2020.
National team
Bodul played nine times as a Croatian junior national player with Croatian-Austrian dual citizenship . He later gave up his Croatian citizenship.
Personal
His brother Dragan (* 1975) was also a soccer player.
