Markus Suttner (born April 16, 1987 in Hollabrunn ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
society
Born in Lower Austria, he began his football career in 1993 with the youth teams of SK Wullersdorf. From September 2000 to June 2001 he visited the LAZ Hollabrunn-Eggenburg. At 14, he moved to the Frank Stronach Academy of FK Austria Wien at the HTL Hollabrunn and completed in spring 2006, the Matura . In 2005 he joined the amateur squad of the violets through the academy . Made his Red Zac first division debut in July 2005 at the age of 18. In the summer of 2008, the left-footed player was included in the professional squad and was used for the first time in the Austrian Bundesliga in early October 2008 . In 2013 he became Austrian champion with Austria.
Suttner played for FC Ingolstadt 04 from the 2015/16 season . On matchday 13 of the 2016/17 season , Suttner scored his first goal in the German Bundesliga with a direct free kick in the 2-1 defeat against Werder Bremen .
In June 2017 Suttner moved to the Premier League promoted Brighton & Hove Albion and kept the class with the team.
In mid-January 2019, the Seagulls loaned the defender to the German Bundesliga promoted Fortuna Düsseldorf until the end of the season . By the end of the 2018/19 season , Suttner had made 6 Bundesliga appearances under Friedhelm Funkel , in which he scored one goal.
In preparation for the summer, Suttner initially returned to Brighton. At the end of July 2019, he moved again to Fortuna Düsseldorf and signed a contract until the end of the 2019/20 season . After relegation from the Bundesliga with Fortuna, he left the club after the end of the contract after the 2019/20 season.
For the 2020/21 season he returned to Austria, where he received a contract that ran until June 2022.
National team
On November 8th, 2011 Suttner was called up for the first time in the Austrian national team by the new team boss Marcel Koller . On February 29, 2012, he made his team debut in a friendly against Finland in Klagenfurt.
At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was part of the Austrian squad , but, like György Garics, was not used in the tournament. In May 2017, Suttner announced that he no longer wanted to appear for the ÖFB selection and that he would end his team career.

The church wedding of Markus Suttner and Andrea took place in June 2015.
