Johannes Handl (born May 7, 1998 in Graz ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
society
Handl started his career at SV Frohnleiten . In 2007 he joined the youth team at SK Sturm Graz , where he later played in the academy. In August 2014 he was against the amateurs of Wolfsberger AC for the first time in the squad of amateurs of Graz.
In April 2015 he made his debut for Sturm Graz II in the Regionalliga when he came on as a substitute for Sebastian Mann on the 24th match day of the 2014/15 season against ATSV Wolfsberg in the 68th minute. He scored his first goal in the regional league in September 2015 in a 2-1 defeat against SV Wallern .
For the 2017/18 season Handl moved to SV Lafnitz . With Lafnitz he rose to the end of the season in the 2nd division . In the promotion season he was used in 20 games in the regional league and remained without a hit.
He made his debut in the second division in July 2018 when he came on as a substitute for David Schloffer in the 67th minute on the first day of the 2018/19 season against WSG Wattens .
In January 2019 he moved to the second-class second team of Bundesliga club FC Wacker Innsbruck . In April 2019 he made his debut for Wacker's first team in the Bundesliga when he started against FC Admira Wacker Mödling on matchday 25 . With Wacker, he had to relegate from the Bundesliga in 2019.
He then moved to Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien for the 2019/20 season , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2023.
National team
Handl played for an Austrian national youth team for the first time in October 2013. In October 2015 he played for the U-18 team for the first time against Ukraine .
In September 2019 he made his debut against Andorra for the U-21 team .
