Patrick Wimmer (born May 30, 2001 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Wimmer began his career at SC Sitzenberg / Reidling . For the 2015/16 season he moved to SG Waidhofen / Ybbs . For the 2017/18 season he moved to the fourth-class SV Gaflenz . He made his debut in the national league in August 2017 when he came on as a substitute for Hannes Stangl in the 70th minute on the second match day of that season against SV Stripfing . In April 2018, he scored his first three goals in the fourth-highest division in a 6-0 win against SC Zwettl . In his first season at Gaflenz, he came to 15 missions in which he scored four goals.

In the 2018/19 season he played 28 games in the regional league and scored five goals. For the 2019/20 season, he moved to the second-rate team of Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021. He made his debut in the second division in July 2019, when he was in the starting line-up against SV Horn on the first day of that season and was replaced by Stefan Radulovic in the 70th minute .

In December 2019, he made his debut for the first team of Austria in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Dominik Fitz on matchday 17 of the 2019/20 season against SK Rapid Wien in the 88th minute .

National team

Wimmer played against Latvia for the first time for the Austrian U-19 team in September 2019 .
