Career

societies

Schick began his professional career at his training club Sparta Prague . Since he received no match practice in the first team at Sparta in the 2015/16 season , he was loaned out to league rivals Bohemians Prague in 1905 , for whom he played 27 first division and two cup games as a regular . For the 2016/17 season , the Italian first division club Sampdoria Genoa signed him . For the club, the Czech was on the field in 35 of 41 compulsory games and had eleven goals and three assists.

In August 2017, Schick moved for a maximum, staggered transfer fee of 42 million euros within Serie A to AS Roma , where he received a three-year contract. He played for the Roma for the first time in the Champions League , reached the semi-finals with her, but had to admit defeat with her to Liverpool . In his second season, Schick performed weaker and could only show seven goals in 32 games.

For the 2019/20 season, the striker moved to RB Leipzig on loan for one year in the German Bundesliga . From November 2019 he was able to oust regular player Yussuf Poulsen in attack and often played with Timo Werner and Christopher Nkunku under head coach Julian Nagelsmann . In winter, he and the club succeeded in qualifying for the Champions League round of 16 for the first time and subsequently also for the quarter and semi-finals. The Czech continued to play regularly, especially since he scored ten goals and prepared three more. Before he first returned to Italy, both RB Leipzig and the player said they would like to continue working together in the future.

National team

On May 27, 2016, after 48 games for Czech youth teams , Schick made his debut for the Czech national team and scored the goal of 6-0 victory against Malta in stoppage time. In autumn 2019 he and the team qualified for the finals of the European Championship 2020 .
