Leonardo Spinazzola (born March 25, 1993 in Foligno ) is an Italian football player .
Career
In the club
Spinazzola started playing football at Virtus Foligno when he was six. At the age of 14 he joined the AC Siena youth team . 2010 changed Spinazzola in the A-youth of Juventus .
After Spinazzola had gone through the youth, he was for the 2012/13 season in the Serie B at the FC Empoli borrowed. After he had come into use in only seven league games (one goal), he was loaned out on January 8, 2013 until the end of the season to league rivals Virtus Lanciano , for whom he was three times as a substitute.
For the 2013/14 season returned Spinazzola in serie B for AC Siena back. There he was used in 24 league games and scored one goal.
For the 2014/15 season Spinazzola switched to Serie A on loan to Atalanta Bergamo . There he could not prevail, however, and only came to two league appearances as a substitute, so that in February 2015 he was loaned out to the Serie B at Vicenza Calcio . By the end of the 2014/15 Serie B season , Spinazzola had played in ten league games.
For the season 2015/16 Spinazzola was within the series B at Perugia Calcio lent. There he came, mostly in the starting line-up, on 34 league appearances.
For the 2016/17 season , Spinazzola returned to Atalanta Bergamo on loan for two years. In his first season he was able to establish himself as a regular player and was used in 30 league games. Spinazzola was also one of the permanent staff in the 2017/18 season . Due to a torn cruciate ligament, however, he was only able to play 18 league games.
In July 2018, Spinazzola was introduced to Juventus Turin as a "newcomer" for the 2018/19 season . Due to his injury, he did not make his first appearance for Juventus in Serie A until the end of January 2019. Spinazzola made a total of ten appearances in the league and became Italian champion and Supercup winner for the first time .
For the 2019/20 season, Spinazzola moved to AS Roma for a transfer fee of 29.5 million euros , where he received a contract until June 30, 2023. At the same time, Juventus signed Luca Pellegrini for 22 million euros from Roma .
In the national team
Spinazzola played once in the U-19 and U-20 teams of Italy in 2011 and 2012 . On March 28, 2017, he made his debut in a 2-1 defeat against the Netherlands in the senior national team .
