Juan Guilherme Nunes Jesus (born June 10, 1991 in Belo Horizonte ), better known as Juan Jesus , is a Brazilian football player who is under contract with AS Roma .
Club career
Juan started his career in the youth department of the Brazilian club SC Internacional in Porto Alegre . In 2010 he made his debut for the Internacional senior team. After winning several titles, the defender, whose style of play will be compared to that of Lúcio , moved to Italy for Inter Milan in late January 2012 . With the Milanese he signed a contract until 2016. In his first season with the Milanese, however, Juan only came to a brief appearance in the last game of the season against Lazio Rome .
But already in the following season, the 2012/13 season , the Brazilian defender celebrated his breakthrough at the Milanese: Juan was on the field in 44 competitive games and 43 from the start. On the last day of the season he was also able to score his first goal for the Milanese against Udinese Calcio . Also in the following season he was a regular at Inter. On April 5, 2014, however, he injured his knee in a league game against FC Bologna and was out for the rest of the season.
At the beginning of the Serie A season 2016/17 , he moved on loan to league rivals AS Roma and was then firmly committed.
National team
Juan ran for various youth national teams in Brazil. With the Brazilian U20 selection , he was able to win the U-20 South American Championship in Peru in 2011 , where he was in seven of his team's nine games on the field. His team was also very successful at the U-20 World Cup in Colombia in 2011 : the Brazilian team secured the title with a 3-2 win over Portugal . Juan played for his team in six of seven games (including the final).
On May 26, 2012, Juan made his debut in the Brazilian A-team : In a friendly against Denmark , which was won 3-1, he stood for over 90 minutes and formed the central defense of the Seleção together with Thiago Silva .
In 2012 he took part with the Olympic team at the Olympic Games in London , where Brazil wanted to win the gold medal for the first time. In the final, however, Brazil had to admit defeat to the Mexican team 1: 2 . He was used in all six games.
