Winchelsea is a small town in the county of East Sussex in the south east of England with 580 residents in 278 houses. Along with Icklesham , Winchelsea Beach and Rye Harbor has been designated a Civil parish (community) in Icklesham District Rother .

Winchelsea is eight miles northeast of Hastings . The beach is 2 km south-east and London is 87 km north-west.
Infrastructure
There is a village hall that can be rented for festivities. The parish church is dedicated to St. Thomas the Martyr. The Methodist Chapel is used on regular occasions. Winchelsea has a primary school (St. Thomas's) and a small museum about the history of the village.
