Rother is a district in East Sussex , England . It is named after the river Rother . The administrative headquarters are in Bexhill-on-Sea . Other significant locations are Battle (site of the Battle of Hastings ), Burwash , Icklesham , Rye and Ticehurst .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was the result of the merger of the urban districts Bexhill and Rye and the Rural District Battle.
structure
The district is divided into 33 parishes ( Civil Parish ):

|
Of these, 31 have their own, Ashburnham and Penhurst have a joint Parish Council. East Guldeford has no such body; instead, residents' assemblies take place. Rye and Battle are small towns ( Town ), accordingly the council there is called Town Council .
The Bexhill administrative center is an unparished area outside this structure. There is neither a municipal council nor its own administration, the decisions that arise are made at the district level, as is the handling of related tasks.
