Dennis Borkowski (born January 26, 2002 in Riesa ) is a German football player . The striker is under contract with RB Leipzig .

Career

society

Borkowski started his career in the youth of BSG Stahl Riesa . At the age of 13, he finally moved to the youth department of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig . From then on, Borkowski went through all teams up to the A-youth. There he recently proved himself to be a top scorer by scoring 11 goals in 16 A-Junior Bundesliga games. In the previous season 2018/19 of the B-Junioren-Bundesliga , he scored 19 times in 22 games.

In May 2020, RB Leipzig equipped Borkowski with a professional contract until June 30, 2023. On matchday 34 of the 2019/20 season , he made his debut in a 2-1 away win against FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. He was sent to the field by coach Julian Nagelsmann in the 82nd minute for Timo Werner . Borkowski thus became the first player trained in the youth department of RB Leipzig who was used in the Bundesliga.

National team

Borkowski has been playing for the DFB's junior teams since 2017 . He played his first game for the U16s on October 3, 2017 in a 1-0 win against the U16s in Belgium .
