FIFA Ballon d'Or 2015

World Footballer of the Year 2015
Lionel Messi

The 60th Ballon d'Or ( French for Golden Ball ) was awarded for the sixth time by France Football magazine and the world football association FIFA under the name FIFA Ballon d'Or .

On October 20, 2015, the 23 candidates for the world football election were announced, the day before the candidates for the world football player election were published. On November 30, 2015, the three players with the most votes were announced, these were Cristiano Ronaldo , Lionel Messi and Neymar . The announcement of the winner and the award ceremony took place on January 11, 2016 at the FIFA Ballon d'Or gala in the Kongresshaus in Zurich .

Voting mode

The prize was awarded by a jury made up of national coaches , national team captains and specialist journalists. These awarded five, three or one point to three players from a list jointly set by the France Football editorial team and FIFA. The performance of the players should be recognized throughout the respective calendar year. Since the three groups of voters have different numbers of voters, but the votes of these three "electoral colleges" should each account for exactly one third of the total result, the absolute scores were then converted into percentages and published in this way.
