FIFA World Player of the Year 1998
The FIFA World Player of the Year 1998 (then still FIFA World Player ) was chosen on February 1, 1999 at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya in Barcelona . It was the eighth award of the “ World Footballer of the Year ” award, introduced in 1991 by the world football association FIFA . The winner of the award was the French Zinédine Zidane .
