FIFA Puskás Prize
The FIFA Puskás Prize is a football prize introduced in 2009 that honors the player who has scored the most aesthetic and most beautiful goal in the past season. The award pays homage to the Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskás who died in 2006 .

The winner of the Puskás Prize will be determined in the last two weeks of November in an internet vote. On the football association's homepage, fans can view ten goals selected by the FIFA Football Committee and then make their choice.
The name of the shooter of the most beautiful goal of the year was first revealed at the FIFA World Player Gala on December 21, 2009 in Zurich . The winner will be honored with the Puskás trophy on which his name is engraved.
Naming
The award is given in honor of the legendary striker Ferenc Puskás, who died in November 2006. Puskás was captain of the legendary Hungarian "Golden Elf" and a member of Real Madrid's "white ballet" , which in the 1950s and 1960s delighted all of Europe with its playful dominance. In 85 international matches for the Hungarian national football team , he scored 84 goals.
criteria
Criteria for selecting a gate include: a. the subjective aesthetics of a goal (e.g. completion of a successful attack combination), the importance of the game in which the goal was scored, the fact that a goal was not scored out of luck or as a result of an opponent's mistake, no unsportsmanlike behavior of the Player during the game and the period in which the goal was scored (July of the previous year up to and including July of the year of the award).
