Ricardo Andrade Quaresma Bernardo [ ʀi'kardu ɐ̃'dradə kwɐ'rɛʃmɐ ber'nardu ] (born  September 26, 1983 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese football player . He is under contract with Kasımpaşa Istanbul .

Career

In the club

Ricardo Quaresma comes from the talent factory of the youth academy of Sporting Lisbon , where he also began his professional career at the age of 18 and made his debut in the league in a game against FC Porto . In 2002 he won with the team the double of championship and cup win .

For the 2003/04 season he moved to FC Barcelona , where he could not prevail. After a year he returned to Portugal for FC Porto and signed a five-year contract, where he was part of the transfer from Deco to FC Barcelona. In January 2008, he prematurely extended his contract term for a further two years. With FC Porto he was Portuguese champion three times in a row.

In the summer of 2008 Quaresma moved to Inter Milan and Pelé to Porto in return . He made his debut on September 13, 2008 in the Serie A game against Calcio Catania . The game ended 2-1. He made his first appearance for Inter in the UEFA Champions League on September 18, 2008 against Panathinaikos Athens . After the first round Quaresma was established in February 2009 to the end of the 2008/09 season in the English Premier League for Chelsea awarded. In the 2009/10 season , Quaresma won the triple of the Italian Championship , the Italian Cup and the UEFA Champions League with Inter Milan under coach José Mourinho .

For the 2010/11 season Quaresma moved to Turkey to Beşiktaş Istanbul . He received the jersey with the number 7, which was given to him by new teammate Rıdvan Şimşek . In May 2011 he won the cup title with the team in the final of the Turkish Cup and was named Player of the Game. In the 2011/12 season Quaresma was suspended by coach Carlos Carvalhal and later pardoned again. At the end of December 2012, his contract was terminated six months before the end of the contract in return for a severance payment.

In January 2013 Quaresma signed a one and a half year contract with the first division club Al-Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates . The contract was terminated prematurely in May 2013.

From January 2014 Quaresma played again for FC Porto.

For the 2015/16 season he moved again to Beşiktaş Istanbul.

In the national team

Ricardo Quaresma played in several Portuguese junior selections and won the 2000 European Under-16 Championship in Israel . In the final, he scored both goals against the Czech Republic for a 2-1 win. His first international appearance for the Portuguese national team was against Bolivia in June 2003 .

He also took part in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany , but was not appointed to the squad there.

Quaresma scored his first goal for the national team on March 24, 2007 in the qualifying match for the 2008 European Championship against Belgium . He was also at UEFA Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland for the team , scoring in the first round against the Czech Republic a goal.

Quaresma took part in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in part, but was not in the squad nominated the tournament. At the European Championship in 2012 he was part of the squad , but was not used.

At the European Championships in 2016 he was again in Portugal's squad . He was one of five players in the squad who were used in all seven tournament games. However, he was only in the starting line-up once, in the second group game against Austria. In the third group game against Hungary, he gave the template to equalize 3: 3. In the round of 16 against Croatia he decided the game with a header in extra time. In the quarter-finals against Poland, he made decisive on penalties. In the final against hosts France, he came into play in the 25th minute for the injured Cristiano Ronaldo . Portugal became European champions for the first time with a 1-0 win after extra time.

Style of play

He is particularly known for his accurate shots and flanks , which he often shoots with the instep. Added to this is his ability to run and speed, which is why he was nicknamed Mustang . He is also known for his Rabona , where he shoots or crosses his legs.
