The Syrianska Fotbollsclub is a Swedish football club in Södertälje . At the end of the second division season in 2010 , the team rose to the Allsvenskan for the first time in the club's history .

history

Syrianska FC was founded in 1977 by Aramaic immigrants under the name Suryoyo . The team started playing in the seventh-class division 7 Östra . Six years later he was promoted to the sixth division, two years later the promotion to the fifth division 5 .

In 1986 the club changed its name and adopted the current name. After a league reform, Division 5 was downgraded and the club found itself again in the sixth level. Just one year later, they returned to the fifth highest division, from which the club rose to fourth division 3 in 1990 . With 15 wins from 22 games, the direct march into the third division succeeded in the following season. In Division 2 Östra Svealand , the team mainly played against relegation, which in 1995 could no longer be avoided.

After relegation Syrianska set the goal of playing in the second division by 2001 . 1999 succeeded in returning to the third division, where the team played directly for promotion, but at the end of the season was 14 points behind the season winner BK Forward . In 2001 there was another duel with the club from Örebro , which Syrianska won this time by two points. In the promotion round, the team failed with two defeats at Åtvidabergs FF and had to change the objective.

Only in 2005 could Syrianska intervene again in the title fight for the relay championship. In a close competition, the club prevailed with three points ahead of fifth-placed IK Sleipner thanks to the more goals scored against Vasalund / Essinge IF, who were equal in points and goals, and qualified for the promotion round. After a 0-2 defeat at home, a 2-1 away win against Qviding FIF was too little and meant another failure in the relegation round. However, with the relay victory, the qualification for the newly introduced third-class Division 1 succeeded . In the 2008 season, the team dominated the league with only one defeat this season and made it to the Superettan. Immediately placed in the front area, she prevailed in the 2010 season before IFK Norrköping as the second division champion and rose to the first division as the 61st team in the history of Allsvenskan.

The 2011 season finished Syrianska with the 14th place, which entitles to relegation. Against Ängelholms FF , the third in the second division, after a 1: 2 defeat in the first leg by a 3-1 home win in an exciting game, the relegation succeeded, up to the 92nd minute it had been 2: 1.

At the end of the following 2012 season, the club finished 13th, which meant relegation. This was secured on the last day of the game by a 3-0 win against Kalmar FF .
