Johan Arneng (born June 14, 1979 in Uddevalla ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder , who made two appearances in the Swedish national team in 2004 , celebrated national titles in Norway and Sweden.
Career
International career start and first title
Arneng played in his youth with IK Oddevold , IK Svane and IFK Sunne . In 1995 he moved to the football boarding school of Degerfors IF . In 1998 he moved to FC Empoli in Italy, with whom he became Italian youth champion. In 1999 Arneng returned to Northern Europe and went to the Norwegian second division club Raufoss IL . After two seasons he joined Vålerenga IF in the Tippeligaen . With the club he won the Norwegian Cup.
In February 2003 Arneng was signed by the reigning Swedish champions Djurgårdens IF . There he was able to establish himself as a regular player straight away and won the Lennart Johansson Cup for the Swedish champions in his first year as a professional in Sweden . In January 2004 he was then nominated for the Swedish national team. As part of the Carlsberg Cup he made his debut in the national jersey on January 22nd in the 3-0 defeat in Hong Kong against the Norwegian national team. When playing for third place in the competition three days later against a Hong Kong league selection, he was a second time for the Swedish national team on the field. The following season was not without a title for him, in the final of the Svenska Cup he was involved in the 3-1 win over IFK Göteborg . In the 2005 season he won the third and fourth national titles in Sweden when he won the championship and cup double with the club.
Change to Norway and return to Sweden
After the end of the 2007 season it was announced that Arneng would return to Norway and appear from January 2008 for Aalesunds FK . There he signed a three-year contract. With the team supervised by his compatriot Sören Åkeby , he found himself in the relegation battle, so that this was replaced by Kjetil Rekdal during the season. At the side of Tor Hogne Aarøy , Daniel Arnefjord , Enar Jääger and Jonathan Parr , he occupied the relegation place with the club at the end of his first season, with two wins against Sogndal IL he held the team with the team.
While Arneng ended up with the team in the subsequent 2009 season on a non-relegation zone, he led the team as team captain in the cup final against Molde FK . With goals from Glenn Roberts and Tor Hogne Aarøy, the game ended with two goals conceded by Mame Biram Diouf in a 2-2 draw, so the penalty shoot-out had to decide. If he converted his penalty as the club's second scorer, a missed penalty by José Mota led to the cup triumph. In the following season he missed the European Cup with the team in fourth place three points behind Tromsø IL .
For family reasons, however, Arneng returned to Sweden in December 2010 and joined first division newcomer Syrianska FC , where he signed a two-year deal. In a 2011 season overshadowed by injury problems , he took the relegation place with the club . The team around Dwayne Miller , Peter Ijeh , Abgar Barsom and David Durmaz , however, prevailed against the second division third Ängelholms FF , in the second leg he played a decisive role as a goal scorer. As a regular player, he also contributed to relegation in the following season, when the team was hired again in the lower third of the table.
