After the Lower Sorbian Children's Choir merged with the dance group friendship , which was only founded in 1993, both were then renamed the Lower Sorbian Children's Ensemble . The ensemble consists of 20 singers and 12 dancers.

Their repertoire includes more than 30 Polish and, above all, Lower Sorbian-Wendish folk songs, but also pop and church songs. The Lower Sorbian children's ensemble performs with their songs and dances in Cottbus and the rest of Lower Lusatia, but also abroad, such as in the Czech Republic and Poland . Her songs are also broadcast on the rbb's Sorbian radio program , for example in the Lower Sorbian-Wendish radio youth magazine Bubak .

Maria Elikowska-Winkler has been the artistic director for more than 20 years and Bjarnat Rjents has been the organizational director since the beginning . The dance group is directed by Karin Sepanova .

In 2002 they received the Ćišinski Prize for their work .

In 2007 the ensemble celebrated its 25th anniversary in the Cottbus district of Sielow .
