Daniel Arnefjord (born March 21, 1979 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player . The central defender , who has played over 200 games in the Allsvenskan and Superettan , is currently under contract with Aalesunds FK .

Career

Arnefjord played in youth at Järva KFUM and IF Brommapojkarna , where he made his debut in 1997 in the second division Division 1 . At the end of the season he joined the third division Café Opera , with whom he rose to the second division. In the following years he had a regular place in the central defense of the second division. After the club merged with Väsby IK to Väsby United , he remained loyal to the merged club for another season.

In 2006 Arnefjord moved to AIK , who had been promoted to Allsvenskan. A bitter moment was his own goal against Helsingborgs IF shortly before the end of the season, when he surprised goalkeeper Daniel Örlund with a failed header . The game ended in a draw, and at the end of the season two weeks later, AIK was one point behind champions IF Elfsborg as runner-up with a better goal difference . In two and a half years with multiple Swedish champions, he was never able to assert himself permanently.

In August 2008 Arnefjord left Sweden and joined the Norwegian club Aalesunds FK , where he faced two compatriots with coach Sören Åkeby and midfielder Johan Arneng . In the Tippeligaen he was a regular player straight away. While the club mainly succeeded in the back of the table, he reached the final of the national cup in 2009 under the direction of coach Kjetil Rekdal . While the team around Glenn Roberts , Anders Lindegaard , Khari Stephenson and team captain Arneng prevailed on penalties against Molde FK , he had to watch the final from outside the field due to a yellow card suspension. In the meantime, he himself led the team to the cup final two years later as team captain. Against Brann Bergen she won the title again.
