Daniel Örlund (born June 23, 1980 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player . The goalkeeper won the Swedish championship and national cup double with AIK in 2009 .

Career

Örlund played for Enskede IK in youth before the goalkeeper moved to Spårvägens FF in 1996 . There he moved up in the 1999 season as a junior player in the squad of the men's team. After the club was relegated to Division 2 , it was able to fight for its regular place in goal in 2000 and managed to return to Division 1 with the club .

In 2002, Örlund moved to Allsvenskan at AIK . At first he was a substitute behind Daniel Andersson and was not used. Even when the competitor left the club in the following season, he remained behind the new Håkan Svensson replacement. In the 2004 season he was loaned to the cooperation partner FC Café Opera in the Superettan . Here he stood between the posts as a regular goalkeeper and was brought back by AIK shortly before the end of the season to celebrate his debut in the first division on October 31 in a 3-1 win over Trelleborgs FF .

After AIK's relegation to the second division, Örlund established himself as a regular goalkeeper at the traditional Swedish club. With the club he managed to return directly to the first division, where he has been a regular since then. In the 2006 season he was awarded the club as the promoted runner-up behind IF Elfsborg and after the end of the season as Sweden's goalkeeper of the year .

After three and a half years as the first man between the posts, Örlund was temporarily ousted by Nicklas Bergh in the summer of 2008 . After the club had signed another goalkeeper Tomi Maanoja from Finland , he decided to change clubs and went to Norway on loan to Fredrikstad FK . Until the end of the season he was a regular in goal in the Tippeligaen , but missed the Norwegian championship title with the club as second behind Stabæk Fotball .

After the end of the season, Örlund returned to Sweden to AIK. Under coach Mikael Stahre , he was again the goalkeeper at the traditional Swedish club and played in all 30 games of the season. Without missing a minute, he won the Lennart Johansson Cup for the Swedish championship with the team around Per Karlsson , Gabriel Özkan , Kenny Pavey and Daniel Tjernström . Temporarily represented in the cup by second goalkeeper Nicklas Bergh , he moved into the final with the club, in which he remained clean in the 2-0 win over IFK Gothenburg after goals from Mauro Iván Óbolo and Antônio Flávio .

Shortly after the end of the season, Örlund announced another move to Norway and went to Rosenborg Trondheim club, which was overseen by Swedish coach Erik Hamrén .

Daniel Örlund was signed by HJK Helsinki in early 2015 .
