The Spårvägens FF is a Swedish football club in Stockholm . The club played in the second highest division in Sweden for several years.

history

The Spårvägens FF emerged from the Spårvägens GoIF. At the sports club founded in 1919, a football department was formed in 1969, which initially only entered the lower class. Initially, the team fluctuated between third and fifth league level. At the end of the 1982 season, the club returned to the third division, where the team quickly established itself in the front division. In 1985 she moved as the season winner of Division 3 Östra Svealand in the promotion games to the second division, but failed there because of Enköpings SK . As runners-up the following year, the team survived a league reform in the third division and also played under the name Stockholms Spårvägars GoIF in the concentrated league in the front division. After runners-up behind Väsby IK and Motala AIF , respectively , at the end of the 1989 season, the club achieved promotion to the second division for the first time with 22 wins in 26 games this season and, as a result, eleven points ahead of runner-up IFK Östersund .

In the second division, the Spårvägens GoIF football team established itself in the front division. After finishing fourth in the table in the debut season, the following season came sixth in the spring season and second in the fall season. In the same year, the football department broke away from the entire club and subsequently appeared under the name Mälarvik Spårvägens FF . Under the new name, the club occupied fourth place in the table in the 1993 season both in the spring and autumn season of 1992 and after returning to play for the entire calendar year.

After the name was shortened to Spårvägens FF for the 1994 season, relegation to the third division followed as bottom of the table together with Spånga IS and Kiruna FF . The relegated dominated his third division season and rose nine points ahead of Tyresö FF directly. The newcomer surprised and took third place in the table behind Västerås SK and Hammarby IF , with five points missing to reach the relegation place to Allsvenskan . The team could not confirm this success and managed to stay in the league the following season only due to the better goal difference compared to the equal points Lira Luleå BK and Enköpings SK. After a tenth place in 1998, the club missed as the bottom of the table in the 1999 season, the qualification for the newly created Superettan and got into the third division.

After a second rank in the first season at the third league level Spårvägens FF sat down in the middle of the table. In another league reform following the 2005 season, the club again missed relegation and slipped into fourth division. The team only escaped the crash in the fifth division in the following season in the relegation games, a year later he could no longer be avoided as penultimate in the table. In the fifth division, the team played for promotion, which was missed in the promotion games in 2009.
