The lira Bollklubb is a Swedish football club from Luleå . The team, which is often referred to as Lira Luleå BK because of its hometown , played for several years in the second highest Swedish division.

history

Lira BK was founded in 1933. For a long time the team played in the lower part of the Swedish league pyramid. At the end of the 1979 season she rose to the third division and played in the season division 3 Norra Norrland against relegation. After the club had occupied the last non-relegation place in the first two seasons, only one win of the season succeeded in the 1982 season, so that he was relegated to fourth division together with Kiruna FF and Vändträsks SK .

1986 Victims of a league reform through which Lira BK relegated to fifth division, the club returned to third division for the 1993 season. After a fourth place in the table in the first season, the team dominated the season in the following season. With 14 wins from 22 games this season, the club reached the second division for the first time with twelve points ahead of Gållivare SK as leaders. There the team had almost no chance and rose as the bottom of the table together with Assyriska Föreningen and Väsby IK directly again. As a relegated club, the club again dominated its third division season and was again the season winner with a clear lead over Piteå IF and Ope IF .

In the second division Lira BK occupied a relegation place. In the first round of the relegation games, the team prevailed against Skellefteå AIK , but missed relegation in the second round against IF Sylvia . Before Östersunds FK and Selånger FK she got right back up, but also missed the third attempt in the league and increased due to the introduction of the Superettan as a nationally uniform second division together with Degerfors IF , IF Brommapojkarna , Nacka FF , IK Sirius and Spårvägens FF in the third division.

After discussions about the creation of a powerful club from the various existing clubs had already arisen in Luleå in previous years, Luleå FF was founded in 2000 . As the highest-ranked team in the league system, Lira BK handed over its league place in the third division to the newly formed club and competed in a lower class itself. In 2006 the team reached the sixth division, but rose again after two seasons. For the 2010 season, the club returned to the sixth level.
