IK Sirius
IK Sirius is a Swedish sports club from the city of Uppsala .

The IK Sirius association was founded in 1907 in the Svartbäcken district of Uppsala. In addition to sports, the club was active in the cultural field and also offered lectures, music and singing.
In 1908 the Studenternas IP sports field was inaugurated, the first modern sports field in Uppsala. This created an important condition for good training and playing opportunities. Bandy and soccer in particular became the most important sports on offer. The club's ice hockey department took part in the Swedish championship , which was still held in cup mode at the time, several times in the 1940s .
Today the club has three departments: one each for bandy, soccer and indoor bandy.
IK Sirius Bandy
IK Sirius Bandy is the club's bandy department. The club experienced its heyday in the 1960s, when it was possible to become Swedish champions three times . In the 1990s the club got into financial difficulties. One consequence of this was that the club between the first ( Bandyallsvenskan ) and second division ( Division 1 ) shuttled back and forth. Today (2006/2007 season) the club plays in the first bandy league .

IK Sirius football
IK Sirius Fotboll is the club's football department. The club had its heyday in the 1960s and 70s, where they played in the first division, the Allsvenskan , for a few years and are currently represented again. In the 90s, IK Sirius played eight seasons in what was then Division 1 . At the beginning of the 21st century, the club played successfully in Division 2 and later in the reintroduced Division 1.
In the 2006 season IK Sirius reached second place in the table in Division 1 Norra. You missed the direct promotion to the second Swedish football league , but you could prevail in the qualifying games that followed against the 14th of the Superettan Väsby United (1-1 at home; 1-0 in Upplands Väsby ). This made it to the Superettan for the 2007 season. In 2015, they reached third place in the Superettan, which resulted in the relegation against Falkenbergs FF . With a 2: 2 and 1: 1 they missed promotion to the Allsvenskan due to the away goals rule , Falkenbergs achieved relegation.

In 1999 the IBK JT 97 applied for joining the IK Sirius. The association was accepted and like the other two departments remains independent in its structure.
