history

The Varbergs BoIS was founded in March 1925. The team soon established itself in the third division. In 1937 she won the relay victory of Division 3 Västsvenska Södra without losing the season and then prevailed in the promotion games against Kinna IF . Initially, she played with the front in the second division and took third place behind IFK Göteborg and GAIS in 1939 , but two years she ended the season together with Arvika BK on a relegation zone.

Varbergs BoIS succeeded in the immediate promotion, but had to relegate again after ten defeats in 18 games this season. As a result, the club established itself in the front division, until the new season win it took until 1946. In the promotion games, he missed the repeated return after two defeats against Höganäs BK . In the following season, the team was victim of a league reform and came into the fourth division.

1957 succeeded Varbergs BoIS the return to the third division, which was followed by the direct march into the second division. In Division 2 Västra Götaland , the team missed relegation due to the fewer goals scored against the point and goal ratio equal competitor Norrby IF from Borås . In 1961 the club rose again and played against relegation in the following years. After five seasons followed in 1966, together with Tidaholms GoIF and SK Sifhälla, the move to the third division, from which the club rose again in 1969. After two seasons, the team missed relegation again in 1971.

In the following years, Varberg's BoIS established itself in the front division of the third division. Several times the team narrowly missed the renewed promotion to the second division. After surviving a league reform in 1986, she slipped into relegation battle. 1988 was relegated to the fourth division. After the immediate re-promotion, the team played until relegation again in 1994 at the third level, before they slipped into fifth division in 1996. After several league changes, the club established itself at the fourth level from 2005, but returned to the third division in 2010 as the winner of its fourth division . The following season was finished on the 1st place, thus the march into the second class Superettan succeeded .
