Upplands Väsby is a city in the Swedish province of Stockholm County and the historic province of Uppland .
The city is located about 30 km northwest of Stockholm , in the catchment area of the Swedish capital and is the capital of the municipality of the same name . A small part (20 hectares ) of the area of the place (without inhabitants, 2010) belongs to the neighboring municipality of Sollentuna .
