Career

Anders Huusko began his career as a hockey player with the Arlanda Wings , with whose professional team he rose from the then third-rate Division 2 to the second-rate Division 1 in the 1989/90 season. In this the attacker spent a season before he was committed by Djurgårdens IF from the Elitserien . With this he lost to the Malmö Redhawks in the 1992 playoff final . After four years, the left shooter left the capital city in 1996 and signed with their league rivals HV71 , with whom he spent another three seasons in the Elitserien. For the 1999/2000 season Huusko moved to other European countries for the first time, where he received a contract with the Kölner Haien from the German Ice Hockey League . After only nine games in which he had remained unpunished, the Swede left the Rhinelander again and joined their league rivals, the Berlin Capitals , for two years .

From 2001 to 2005 Huusko played again for his ex-club HV71, with whom he became Swedish champions for the first and only time in his career in the 2003/04 season . In the playoff final, he and his team prevailed against Färjestad BK . The former national player and world champion from 1998 contributed to this success with nine goals and four assists in 15 playoff games. He was also the top scorer in the playoffs across the league. A year later, the winger retired at the age of 34.
