The kkStB 188 was a tank locomotive series of the kk state railways of Austria , whose locomotives originally came from the Kaiserin Elisabeth-Bahn (KEB).
The KEB procured these five small tank locomotives for light passenger traffic and for shunting . After nationalization in 1884 , the kkStB initially classified it as 88.01-05 . In 1905 the remaining four machines were redrawn as 188.01-04 .
After 1918 the series was split between PKP and CFR , who did not assign them a series number of their own.
