Spånga idrottssällskap , often abbreviated to Spånga IS , is a Swedish football club from Spånga , a district of Stockholm . The team played six seasons in the Swedish second division.
history
Spånga IS was founded on September 6, 1929 as a general sports club. The club had departments for handball , skiing , bandy , ice hockey and football.
The club's soccer team played for a long time in the lower-class league area. After she was relegated from the third division in 1968, she managed to rise again in 1970. Right away, the team succeeded in winning the relay in Division 3 Östra Svealand , so that the club was allowed to compete in the promotion games to the second division. There succeeded after a win and a draw, the first place before Kungshamns IF and Västerås SK and thus the first promotion to the second division.
