Here the club established itself in the front area, but narrowly missed promotion several times behind teams like Norrby IF , BK Häcken , Kinna IF , Redbergslids IK or Karlskoga IF . This succeeded in 1959 when the tied competitor Hvetlanda GIF was relegated to second place due to the better goal difference . The direct relegation was followed by the renewed season victory when the team completed the season in 1959 without losing points with 16 points ahead of the table runner-up Huskvarna Södra IS . As an elevator team, the club commuted annually between the second and third league in the following years, before the re-promotion was missed in 1963.

After Tidaholms GoIF had another one-year interlude in the second division in the 1966 season, the club stayed in the second division until 1970 after being promoted immediately. Again the immediate promotion succeeded, as the team prevailed in the promotion round with BK Derby and Ulricehamns IFK , but could not hold on to the league again. In the third division, she established herself in the front division. In 1977 she only missed the relay victory due to the poorer goal difference compared to the Motala AIF tied on points .

In the following years, Tidaholms GoIF slipped into the middle of the table and missed relegation in 1980. The immediate resurgence was followed by relegation to fourth class. After returning to the third division in 1985, the club was victim of a league reform and the fourth division the following year. The team returned as the season winners in the third level, where they soon established themselves in the front of the table and in 1992 managed to return to the second division. The stay there lasted only one season. The relegated placed in the mid-1990s regularly in the middle of the third division, before 1997 was relegated to the fourth division. Tidaholms GoIF only missed direct resurgence in the promotion games, which was made up for the following year as a season winner.
