Norsjö IF is a Swedish football club from Norsjö . The team from northern Sweden entered the country's second-highest division in the 1963 season .

history

Norsjö IF was founded in 1919. Initially active in the lower division, the team rose to the third division in 1958. Here she sat down in the front of her season before she rose to the second division at the end of the 1962 season after winning the season in Division 3 Norra Norrland . There were only three victories over the course of the season, so that the club, as bottom of the table, relegated to the third division together with Gimonäs CK and Bollnäs GIF .

In the mid-1960s, Norsjö IF played against the crash in the fourth division, which was avoided twice on the last non-relegation place. Then the team finished second behind Gimonäs CK in the 1967 season, before placing in the front midfield in the following years. In 1979 the team won the season for the second time in their history, in the subsequent promotion games IF Brommapojkarna and Gefle IF / Brynäs proved to be too strong, so that despite a victory against Alnö IF, the renewed promotion was missed. The following year the relay win was repeated, in the games against Ope IF , Spånga IS and Gammelstads IF , the team remained pointless this time. In the two following years she also played for promotion, but missed re-participation in the promotion round as second or third in the table. As a result, the club slipped and had to start the fourth division in 1984. After the immediate resurgence, the club was the victim of a league reform in 1986 and was classified in the fourth division.

Initially placed in the middle of the table, Norsjö IF missed promotion to the third division in 1990 with one point behind the top duo Sunnanå SK and Notvikens IK, third in the table. The club could not confirm the success and was relegated to the fifth division in the following season. After the team had only failed in the promotion round in 1994, it took until the 2000 season to return to the fourth division, at the end of which, however, there was direct relegation. In another league reform in 2005, the team reached the relegation games, after three defeats the club crashed into the sixth division.

The football team of Norsjö IF initially occupied places in the middle of the table, before they returned to the fifth division in 2008 as the season winner of Division 4 Västerbotten Norra . With a sixth place she stayed on the same level.
